Line superintendent Steven Harris retired from Tideland in late February. His career with the co-op came in two separate tenures for a total of 19 years of service.

His most recent tenure at Tideland EMC was as a Journeyman Lineman, Line Superintendent in Grantsboro, and Line Superintendent on Ocracoke.

Steven was instrumental in recovery efforts during two of our most serious hurricanes: Irene and Florence. He also positioned Tideland for the long term by assisting with the development of qualified personnel in both the co-op’s Grantsboro and Ocracoke Districts.

The Tideland EMC work force and members of the electric cooperative have been left well prepared for years to come not only due to the willingness of Steven to assist others in their individual professional development, but also due to his daily commitment to our organization and his accomplished career.

We wish him all the best in his post-retirement endeavors.
